Well after a lot of searching around on the internet I think I’ve finally found a way to learn bass guitar that could actually work for us! There’s a site called Workshop Live that provides a whole bunch of interactive lessons done by professional music teachers for guitar, keyboard, bass and drums. Check out the home page here (currently there’s the offer of free 7 day ‘all courses’ access), or go straight to the bass guitar page and start on the road to learning bass guitar.
Workshop Live start from the very basics for beginners, with their teachers explaining everything you need to know to get started. The bass lessons begin with advice on buying a bass and an amplifier and move on to how to play with your left and right hands before introducing some ’simple grooves’. Things then progress smoothly up to some pretty advanced stuff, so most levels of bass player should be catered for.
